When are applications due?
Make a STATEment applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis from our campus partners.
Who can apply?
NMSU current students, faculty, or staff working in partnership with development staff in their area can apply to have their project featured on Make a STATEment. The project must fund a specific program and priority within NMSU.
Who decides that a project will be added to Make a STATEment?
NMSU Office of Advancement staff will review Make a STATEment applications and approve them based on project essentials: team commitment, project appeal, and goal achievement potential. A collaborative team of university partners will assist in reviewing project applications as needed.
How much information do I need to provide on the application?
Provide as much information as possible. It is easier to assess project potential if you answer each question specifically and explain why your project will be successful. The project must appeal to a broader audience and have the potential to become viral on social media through the promotion of your project volunteers. In your application, explain how your project is unique and how the funds will be utilized in your area.
What is an appropriate funding goal for projects?
We recommend a fundraising goal of between $2,500 and $15,000. We will consider each project's goal on a case-by-case basis.
What kinds of projects can be submitted?
The best crowdfunding projects have a specific deadline that creates a sense of urgency to encourage donations during the 30 day period the project is live. If you are unsure about whether or not your project is suitable for Make a STATEment, please call Renee Gonzalez at (575) 646-2522 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
