Aggie Cupboard

Together we have raised $49,210 from 515 donors.

Aggie Cupboard

Students at New Mexico State University shouldn't need to make the choice between food and books, especially in times of crisis. Each dollar the Aggie Cupboard receives can be stretched into one full meal for a student in need. A gift of just $10 can help supply a student with food for a week, and $40 will support a student for a month. As part of the Aggie family, your role is important in helping our students stay in school.

"The Aggie Cupboard tells students and staff that they always have a safety net if times get tight. NMSU truly is a caring community and we are here to provide support and assistance beyond their academic needs," said Meg Long, director of Aggie Cupboard.

"The cupboard has a huge impact on the students here at NMSU— because when people are hungry, it affects all aspects of their lives," said Long. "By having access to supplemental food right here on campus, students are able to quickly and easily get what they need, allowing them to focus on their studies, work and family."

The pantry focuses on non-refrigerated nutritious food that typically includes staples such as protein, vegetables, soups, beans, rice, pasta and sauce, but sometimes has the ability to provide fruit, cereal, snacks and beverages.

"A couple of jars of peanut butter, a few dollars here and there, it all adds up!" said Long. It is the consistent small donations that keep our shelves full and students supplied with the food they need to get through the week.

A donation of $10 can help supply a student with food for a week.

A donation of $20 can help us pay for operating supplies such as shelving, plastic bags, and training materials for volunteers.

A donation of $40 can help supply a student with food for a month.

Support our Aggie students this upcoming year at both the Las Cruces campus and NMSU-Alamogordo to make sure they continue with their Aggie legacy. Please give today.
